Deleting your account and data
You can delete your Kimda account at any time. The quickest way is right in the app; if you no longer have it, send us a request by email.
1. Right in the app
- Open Kimda and tap My profile.
- Select Delete account and confirm.
- If you’re the last parent in the family, the entire family, including the kids, will be deleted along with your account. The app will first ask for the code from an SMS sent to your current phone number, and then you will confirm the deletion of the entire family. If you don’t have access to that number, use the email request below. If another parent was removed from the family in the last 14 days, the family cannot be deleted until this 14-day protection period expires.
Deletion starts immediately and the app signs you out. Some steps, such as removing photos from storage, finish automatically in the background.
2. Without the app – by email
Write to privacy@kimda.app with the subject Account deletion request and include:
The phone number you use to sign in to Kimda: Your name in the app: Family name: I want to delete: only my account / the entire family, including the kids (the last parent in the family always deletes the entire family)
Before deleting an account, we verify that the request comes from its owner – for this, we may ask you to confirm from the phone number linked to the account. We will handle your request within 30 days at the latest and let you know once it’s done. Never send us codes from sign-in SMS.
What gets deleted
- Your name, phone number, profile photo and notification token.
- All photos you uploaded. For a child’s account, also the photos of the child’s tasks that a parent uploaded for them.
- Your free-text notes.
- When the entire family is deleted, also all its members and their photos, custom names of tasks, goals and rewards, and the subscription customer record at RevenueCat.
What remains (anonymously)
When a single member is deleted, only the accounting data from their task, pocket-money, reward and goal history (points, amounts, status and time) stays with the rest of the family, so the pocket money totals still add up for the other members. Task and goal names in this history are replaced with neutral text, and free-text notes and photos are deleted; the history stays linked only to a record with no name or contact details that can’t be used to sign in. When the entire family is deleted, the same kind of stripped-down accounting records remain, without names, contact details or custom titles, for no more than 30 days after deletion; after that they are removed (encrypted backups may contain them for no more than a further 30 days). Records of direct payouts and manual repayments are deleted along with the child they concern or with the entire family. Security records with internal identifiers are deleted by the server after 30 days. Records of a phone number change and of the removal of a family member (journal) are deleted by the server along with the account or family; their copy in separate storage expires at the latest 60 days after storage. Encrypted backups may contain deleted data for no more than 30 days. If you agreed to the immediate start of Premium, the proof of this consent (only internal identifiers, without name and phone number) remains after the deletion of the account or family for 3 years from the granting of consent; its copy in separate non-public storage is deleted after 1125 days from storage.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play settings – you’ll find instructions on the Support page.
